5 Reasons - Not to watch OK Kanmani

OK Kanmani is one among the most trending topics from the movie niche and everyone around is busy finding out the best of the movie, maybe because of the rich cast and the Mani Ratnam's brand value. But here are 5 reasons not to watch OK Kanmani.

1) A story that has been told once !

Anybody who has watched Alaipayuthe would definitely feel they are running against time, everything seems to hitting back in the reverse order? Isn't it?

Karthik and Shakthi marry, fall in love, live together and have those annoying little fights driving a wedge between them. Tara and Aadhi, however do it all in reverse. They meet, decide to live together, have those little fights, fall in love and finally get married.

But anything presented fresh is fresh. The movie is neither boring nor old. It indeed has some ticks and tacks.

2) DQ and Nithya doesn't make a good couple !

Yea, I dont find Nithya and DQ making up a good pair. Maybe that's one of my personal opinions, but I do find them mismatched. The romance built up between them doesn't seem to touch the hearts, not at least mine. A better casting would have increased the movie's mileage to a better extend for sure. DQ seems to be too young in front of Nithya. I cant digest it :P

3) Not a stereotyped commercial flick !

The movie is definitely not a stereotyped commercial flick where the hero has a six pack, fights the goons, sings a few songs, lifts up his girl and goes through a wild chase and finally snatches her from everyone else. He doesn't let the romance blind him. Or maybe the movie itself doesn't. The family, the job, the world around; everything is given its true value. And because of all this, the movie isn't a very smooth and happily sliding romantic story man ! You gotta sit stressed, worried and sad in the movie hall. Why pay to be sad?

4) So many songs and a single musical treat  !

Nevertheless, the songs of the movie have been into the buzz long before being launched. AR Rahman's magical fingers has proved the best once again. Rahman has done a great job as always. Even if you are bored with the movie's script, the songs can definitely tie you up to the seats. It is not just one or two, there are more than five Rahman creations. What more do you expect?

5) Where is the moral police? Gosh! They are living together !

Haha, the moral police will have to hold protests in all the theaters showing the movie. They are living together and how can the moral police of our country close their eyes upon it? Let us at least boycott the movie man :P

From all the 5 things I have pulled up, you might have definitely figured out one thing, OK Kanmani is not a bad choice to watch at all. All the 5 things that we've mentioned are silly and is no reason to avoid such a wonderful Mani Ratnam magic. In fact they are solid reasons to watch this wonderful piece of art. Head on to your nearest movie space and watch it ;)

  1. oh come on...mate.. really...moral policing...we are talkin abt a movie...everybody knows that he got the role because of his dad... not ignoring the huge potential of the actor...it took actors like prithviraj and vikram years to get a call from THE director...the role going to DQ is a blazing revelation of how much he is stereotyped in the film industry....but i do agree with your opinion about the chemistry because it tremendously failed in 100 days of love also...mani ratnam has clearly lost his touch after raavanan....to be frank and blunt i have seen some better low budget movies in tamil in this year which are far better than this...all want a happy ending but not all of us are hopeless romantics....
VERDICT: not a must watch theatre movie...u can just catch it when it comes in a channel
PS: pls dont compare this with the classic movie like alaipayuthe
