The youth of the Paliyekkara toll area has protested in such a way that the authorities didn't expect. Protests were strong since the Paliyekkara toll plaza was established and started levying heavy tolls from the motorists in the Thrissur-Ernakulam highway.


But what happened next is exciting. Till date there wasn't any other parallel routes existing to bypass the toll. But the youth of the area has cleared an unused piece of road. A road parallel to the 'Manali Puzha' which was unusable was cleaned up by the youth of the Madavakara Club.

Vehicles moving from Amballur to Thrissur can enter this Manali Madavakara road by taking a left after the Manali bridge. Travelling around 2 kms through this road you can cover the Paliyekkara Toll plaza via Chittishery and continue the journey. Soon there will be sign boards erected to guide you through the new parallel road.
