Airtel Zero has been widely touted as an anti net neutrality ideology. But in fact we were
misinformed and misguided my the social media or a group of people using the social media. Airtel zero was nothing against net neutrality. It was a mere promotional package which favored both the public as well as the firms taking part in the scheme along with a win win tactics for Airtel. Stuff has been arm twisted and you need to understand the facts.

First read what the Airtel CEO explains about their Airtel Zero platform:

"Over the last few days you may have seen a lot of conversation on Airtel Zero. It has been painted as a move that violates net neutrality and we have been very concerned at the incorrect information that has been carried by some quarters in the media as well as in social media, I wanted to take this opportunity to clear the air and reiterate that we are completely committed to net neutrality, The platform is open to all app developers, content providers and internet sites on an equal basis and same rate card is offered to all. There is no difference between this and toll free voice such as 1-800, As a company we do not ever block or provide any differential speeds to any website. We have never done it and will never do it. We believe customers are the reason we are in business"The head of country's largest telecom operator said there has been a deliberate effort by some quarters to confuse people that it will offer differential speeds or differential access for different sites.

"This is untrue. After all we earn revenue from data. If there are more customers who are on the internet the better it is for our business. Our revenues are not dependent on which sites they visit because we charge on the basis of consumption of mega bytes not which site they visited," he added.

Now let me explain the stuff. Airtel zero is similar to a toll free number. For me it is simple. If I purchase a data package I will be allowed to use my data on any site without any restrictions. And if I purchase a special promotion data package (eg. social media package or Airtel zero) I will be restricted to use only those sites who pays on behalf of me, Right? No rocket science. It is the same way the telephone works too. You buy credit and you get to call any number on the provided call rates. But certain calls to numbers like 1800- are toll free as the firm has paid the telecom provider already. Or if a departmental store runs a part sale, it will give discount on selected items. Eg. X brand 30% discount, Y brand 50% discount and and Z brand no discount, do we cry that they are favoring a certain brand? Definitely no. It is good for both the customers as well as the firms. Isn't all this the same thing?

Similarly nobody is forcing you to take part in the promotions. Only if we opt for a promotional package, we will have to abide by their terms and conditions. If simply using a promotional package is against net neutrality according to your views, just forget the promotional benefits and carry on with your data package. Just leave the fuzz.

Definitely this was something that would have made browsing free or cheaper for at least a group of us. As more and more companies pool into the 'Airtel Zero' network our chances of taking a data pack reduces. And eventually internet would be free at least for a group of us.

What is wrong in this? Nothing. A group of social media including the AIB arm twisted the facts. There is nothing like differential speeds. Nothing like inequality. Nothing like partiality. Or even nothing that is against Net neutrality. This was something that would have benefited the customers, the companies as well as the telecom provider. In fact this was a good move indeed.

It was just clicks, fame and revenue that forced a few social media goons to arm twist the facts. Beware of these social media gundas, and please use your own brain and do your own research. Dont you agree with this? If not, let us know why?

Flipkart has pulled itself out of the Airtel Zero Partnership. Airtel Zero was explained as an open marketing platform that will allow customers to access mobile applications at zero data charges. ‘Airtel Zero’ will allow everyone from big marketers to small-time application developers to make parts or their entire mobile app free for customers.

The platform was also expected to be a big win for customers as it will allow them to access their favourite mobile applications at no data charges, and also encourage them to try out new applications. However, recent reports and public outrage on Net Neutrality concerns due to Airtel Zero, caused a lot of rage on Social Media and revolts everywhere. One of them being rating the Airtel App low on the app Stores.

Official Statement from Flipkart reads –

"We at Flipkart have always strongly believed in the concept of net neutrality, for we exist because of the Internet. Over the past few days, there has been a great amount of debate, both internally and externally, on the topic of zero rating, and we have a deeper understanding of the implications. Based on this, we have decided on the following:

We will be walking away from the ongoing discussions with Airtel for their platform Airtel Zero. We will be committing ourselves to the larger cause of Net Neutrality in India. We will be internally discussing over the next few days, the details of actions we will take to support the cause. We will be working towards ensuring that the spirit of net neutrality is upheld and applied equally to all companies in India irrespective of the size or the service being offered and there is absolutely no discrimination whatsoever"

Being in India we come across discounts and sales of various E-commerce sites in our country. Often we get no benefit from these sales due to various reasons. Here is a small guide on how to deal with the Online Sales or Discounts in an effective manner so that you can make the best out of it.

1. Be prepared and clear about the things you'd like to buy !

Have something like a to-do list. Instead of browsing through the entire product range aimlessly, have certain things in your mind before you start browsing the shopping site. Think and plan about anything that you need or would need in the near future. This can help you out of the mess that is created due to large volume of products available. This will save time as well as the money you spend on ordering random products. But make sure you don't miss some great deals that are running too. You can rely on pages like Deals4You on Facebook. They usually post the best deals happening around in various shopping sites.

2. Create a wishlist on the shopping site !
Most people are unaware about the wishlist option available in most of the E-commerce sites. Adding items to your wishlist is like having your eyes glues onto a product. You can easily know the price of the product you are interested in. You don't have to go through the tedious job of searching and finding the item each time you log in. Your wishlist has it all. Saves time + Makes your job easier.

3. Try to get into the site before the sale begins !

Most of our e-commerce sites run out of bandwidth during sales and peak hours. To avoid this hit back, get into the site a bit earlier. Even though this sounds ridiculous without any scientific backing, it is experienced that the people who are already in a bandwidth limited site would be able to continue to use the site flawlessly while the new entries cant. Try it next time, might turn out to be worth it.

4. Compare before you buy !

Sales or discounts doesn't guarantee you the best price in the market. Before you order an item compare the product's price on other websites too. Often there are chances of finding the same product cheaper on a site without any offers running. It's sometimes a matter of luck.

5. Read about all the available deals running !

Sometimes you might be eligible for some extra discounts for using a particular bank's card or if you are a student. Or maybe something that you haven't imagines in your wildest dreams. So go through all the offers that are running on the particular site you are going to purchase from.

There is a lot of buzz regarding the Apple's flagship product IPhone happening as always. You can find Apple fans advocating the advantages of owning an IPhone. You can also find tech enthusiasts advocating for Android or other smartphones. In fact IPhone does have a few benefits. Maybe it can help reduce the weight of your wallet. ;)

1. You Are Locked Inside An Alien Planet:
Yes, it is definitely sort of something like this. You cannot transfer files, music, videos or any other stuff; to and from your Apple device. iTunes is the only gate to enter or exit into your device. This can sometimes be frustrating when your friends do not own an IPhone. Imagine an outing with your childhood friends, amazing pictures clicked by each of you, and now you wanna share those pics each other before they leave the place. You are screwed !

Note: There are a few third party applications helping you to transfer files between any smartphones from an IPhone but these apps does not seem to be fully functional.

2. You buy the brand and the logo, not a solid hardware:
How many of you are aware of the hardware specifications of an IPhone? Before you'd buy any other smartphone, you will have a number of specifications to look upon. The Memory, the processor, the screen size, the camera quality and so on. But a person who buys an IPhone questions nothing but he just wants it to be an Apple IPhone. There lies the secret behind the immense growth of this gadget manufacturer.

You get a 16GB storage, 8MP camera, a 4.7" mere LCD screen, 1GB of Ram and a very weak 1.4Ghz Cyclone (ARM v8 based) processor for about Rs. 79,999!

Have you ever gone through this? Most of them might haven't. A similar specification based device can be sought for around Rs. 20,000 or below if you go for other brands, and those other brands doesn't refer to the budget Chinese and Indian brands. So you are paying a large sum buying nothing, and this funds the brand, flourishes the brand and here lies the secret behind the companies mind blowing growth within a very few years of existence.

3. Lack of Applications and Utilities:
iOS definitely has a lot of applications and utilities in store, we agree. But it is nothing compared to that of an Android store. You get half of the applications available with the rivals. Most of the applications are available free of cost in other platforms where as iOS juices out your wallet even while you browse through their stores for something lovely or essential.

3. Smooth and User Friendly Interface:

Whenever you get a new SIM card, it takes time for you to by heart your own mobile number.
Sometimes, you might even forget your own mobile number due to several confusions and you always give a call to your friends or relatives mobile so that you can have a look at your number, its a long process, isn’t it? Well, now on, you can just use the codes in this tutorial to Check your own mobile number for major network providers such as the below given ones, we will actually use some codes that’ll show up your mobile number without wasting much time.

You just have to open up your phone’s Dialer, type these codes and finally you need to hit the call button or sometimes you just need to type it. You’ll see that a small window pop up giving you the required details (Some carriers ask you to confirm it, just hit “OK” to proceed) . And the best part is that it works even with zero balance as it is completely free, even better than calling others to check your mobile number because even that requires currency!

Hosting contests or organizing a give away is one of the best strategies that you can use to drive traffic into your website/ blog. This is an age old idea that is used by almost all the webmasters around the web. But hosting a contest or a give away can be a tedious job to a few at least. Finding out a sponsor or a gift to be given is the only tough job behind the scene. The prizes need not be really expensive to drive attention, gifting an ear phone or a domain name can also be equally competent. Today we will give you a few ideas that can be used to host a contest without much your pocket money being drained. If you have a blog that isn't really new in the blogosphere, these tips can help you a lot to boost your online presence.

Finding out a sponsor.

1. Find Out a Third Party Sponsor
Finding out a sponsor for your give away should be the first step in organizing a contest. Sponsors can be of different types depending upon your site's popularity and traffic. If your blog belongs to newbie category, it is always preferable to approach some software firms or cloud storage sites. These firms do not need any capital to give away their products such as a software license or a premium cloud storage account, and therefore there are higher chances of these groups cooperating with you. An antivirus, internet security or any other popularly used software can be offered as a prize, and these software are indeed a benefit to the winners.
If you have a site that has comparatively higher amount of traffic and popularity, then try to find out materialistic prizes such as gadgets or accessories, as these gifts can obviously drive higher attention, but you need to prove yourself to the sponsor that you are worth the sponsorship.

2. Sponsor Yourself
If you are a very beginner and you website is really new, it is hard to find sponsors for your contests. That does not mean that you cannot host a contest. Sponsor it yourself. Keep aside some of your pocket money for this. It doesn't matter how small the prize is, it is just the give away that matters. Drive maximum traffic with the efforts you make. Bring up your site. Establish your presence. And later on, you will have sponsors waiting for you.

How to count on the Entries and Manage your contests.
The next step is organizing the contest. Promoting your contest. Managing the entries. Choosing the winners. And there goes it. Managing the contest can be done easily using some contest managers that are available free with limited features and paid with premium features. Rafflecopter is one such service that can be used to manage your contests or give away-s. Rafflecopter can be clubbed with almost all the social networking sites, email clients and most of the web platforms. You can choose from the wide range of options to count on the entries and Rafflecopter can easily manage the entries based on their actions which can be counted or rejected. You can ask your readers to share a post, post a tweet, comment on your blog or anything else and Rafflecopter can easily track them, hence you do not have the head aches of organizing or verifying the entries. This site also offers a free service with limited features which can be used to host your initial contests.

Promoting your contests, sharing the word.
The best way to promote your contest is asking the contestants to share the word through social networking sites, and counting on entries based on their number of posts or re-tweets. This is really effective and might reach millions from mouth to mouth. Share about the contest through your Fan pages, emails and let your friends know while you talk. If you have a better budget and would like to reach a higher amount of audience, then start advertising too.

Everywhere in the web you can see posts about Xiaomi Mi3 Releasing in India. Flipkart being the sole dealer of the brand in India, the site crashed as soon as the phone's sales started. The phone was sold out in 40 Minutes. The phone is priced pocket friendly and has mind blowing specifications. Everything about this smart and cost efficient phone is convincing. But there are certain things to consider before you jump into buying one. Here are our 5 Reasons for this post.

1. Lack of Service Stores.
Xiaomi has only now made its first foray into the highly lucrative Indian market, and therefore they do not have a wide network of service stores. The after sales services associated with this brand is yet to be reviewed. Once you encounter an issue with the device, there is hardly anyone you can approach. Flipkart being the dealer, might offer services through courier companies, and this would be time consuming as well as a tedious job. Therefore before you get one in your hands, make sure you have a service station near you or at place that you can reach conveniently. Here is a list of service centers as of now. You can hardly find one near you.

Have you ever wondered about the pros and cons of buying a less popular smartphone brand? Why do the
leasing brands price their devices higher than the less popular ones that offer better specifications? It is not just the brand name that decides the price tag. There are various factors that influence the price of a smartphone. Know it right, before you open your wallet.

In the recent years we have a lot of emerging smartphone brands in our market. Some of them being Micromax, Karbonn, Xolo, Gionee, etc. Most of these brands offer up to the mark specifications as well as amazing designs, but are priced much lower than their competing popular counterparts. Most probably you can get half the specification at double the price while you go for a popular brand like Samsung, Nokia, Sony or HTC.

In both rich countries and poor ones, cheaper smartphone brands are making inroads. Demand for pricey phones, mainly in developed economies, is slowing, but that for less expensive devices is booming. People buying their first smartphones today, perhaps to replace a basic handset, care less about the brand and more about price than the richer, keener types of a few years ago. The brands that get affected due to this washout is the richer ones like Apple or Samsung. Apple may still seem to struggle for existence due to the unique OS they have and apparently impregnable brand. But the most vulnerable would be the brands dealing with Google's Android OS. Samsung and Sony would definitely have a hit back in the coming years.

The Bansal brothers - namely Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal are the founders of the most popular online Flipkart. These brothers never thought that they would turn in to Billionaires while they started the earliest online store of India. During a time when the Indians were unaware of online shopping, these champs brought about a revolution into our market. Soon the Indians started buying anything and everything online. Starting from socks to high end computers, everything is shopped online today. Raising a challenge to the retailers of our country, e-commerce sites has emerged to a very large extend. We now have more than 50 online shopping stores functioning around us.

Flipkart emerged as the largest and the most popular online store and continues to stay the best even as global players like Ebay and Amazon has entered our market. With an initial investment of about   400,000, the Bansal brothers have now grown to be millionaires. Now Flipkart has a revenue of 11.8 Billion which is the largest among the online stores in India. Flipkart was founded in 2007 by Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, both alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. They had been working for Amazon.com previously. The business was formally incorporated as a company in October 2008 as Flipkart Online Services Pvt. Ltd. During the initial period, they concentrated only on books and later expanded to almost anything that you'd look into buying. Flipkart has also launched their flagship brand Digiflip which deals with pouches and bags.

This is a story that every aspiring entrepreneur of our nation should read. It is a story of hard-work and dedication along with innovative ideas. The story of a company started with an initial investment of Rs 4 lakhs is simply amazing and inspiring too for many aspiring entrepreneurs. The only milestone they had in front of them was to make their customers happy. The worked to provide timely delivery and up to the mark after sales delivery. While they watered the tree, the fruits started growing up. Co-Founder of Flipkart, Sachin Bansal got Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2012-2013 from Economic Times, leading Indian Economic Daily. Flipkart.com was awarded Young Turk of the Year at CNBC TV 18′s ‘India Business Leader Awards 2012′ (IBLA). Flipkart.com, secured second position in the List of Cheapest Mobile Store 2013, compiled by Indian e-commerce observer Zoutons.com. And above all these, it is the name Flipkart that every Indian knows, their achievement.

It is not how much you invest or how big you start that determines your future, but it is the hard-work and innovative ideas that trigger success. The Bansal brothers are one of the best examples that you can rise from ashes. They had nothing while they started. But now they are the best online store in India, while the global giants like Ebay and Amazon are mere miniatures.

Definitely these are Indians who have made us proud, and here is a bonus - Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal are related in no way.

Here is how their relationship emerged - ''My business partner, Binny, is also from Chandigarh. We are not related in any way, it just happens to be a coincidence that we are now working on Flipkart together. We both grew up in Chandigarh and went to the same schools yet did not know each other well. I went to the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, where I studied computer science, and that is where I really got to know Binny because he was studying computer science as well. We graduated from IIT in 2005, and we took different jobs in Bangalore. I joined a company called Techspan. Our paths converged again in 2006 when we both joined Amazon.com India.''

Have you ever come across a wonderful site and wondered how it was designed or the platform that was used to design that website? Most of the web enthusiasts do wonder about this. Once we reach a beautifully designed website, the first thought that runs into our mind would be the secrets behind the designing of that site. How it was designed, what are the softwares used or even the platform that powered the site. Now it is easy to find all these things within seconds.

As the title mentions this is a post intended to help amateur bloggers to drive some random traffic into their blogs. This can be helpful during the early stages of your blog and we do not recommend you to follow these basic steps once you get more than 200 unique clicks a day. Every blog has a time. During the initial stages all the blogs that are popular today had a time of struggle. Do not give up while you find low traffic on your blogs. It might be one single post that would change the future of the blog. At the mean time try these basic promotions to drive some random traffic into your space.

#1 - Facebook Promotion
Promote each and every new post on your blog using Facebook among your friends, colleagues and relatives. This is the first step of driving traffic into your blog. Tell your dear and near ones that you are writing something, and ask for their reviews. Post your blog's links in all the groups or pages that you have a hand in. Each time you might be getting a single click after all the effort you take, but that single click is an achievement. Keep trying and there will be a day others promote your posts while you sit idle.

#2 - Burn a feed
Always make sure you have a feed being burnt as you write a blog. Feedburner is the best service provider to generate an RSS or Atom feed of your blog posts. Make sure you provide a form to invite your readers to subscribe to your posts. It is also appreciable if you can have a pop-up window inviting your visitors to subscribe your posts. Each subscription counts. By getting subscribers, you are making sure of certain permanent clicks to your blog.

#3 - E-Mail your blog
Mail your blog to your friends and colleagues. There might be a lot of people who are inactive in the social networking sites. Catch their attention. Mail them your blog posts or post links. Once you get them onto your site, it is your luck that decides whether the visitor would be a frequent reader of your blog or a one time visitor. Make sure you have quality content to retain your visitors on your blog. Having interesting content is the only way to attract readers to your blog. Make sure you spend enough time to produce quality articles.

#4 - Do Not Monetize
Do not monetize your blog during the initial stages. Forget the idea of earning right from the beginning. The only aim during the first few weeks of blogging should be to construct quality content and to grab a few retaining visitors. These are the assets you need to develop before you monetize your blog. A visitor who reaches your site should be comfortable there. The site should load faster. No one is gonna wait longer for an amateur blog to load. Keep it lite for the beginning. And once you develop visitors, monetize it.

#5 - Host it preferably on Blogger
Different people would have different opinions on the this issue. But I personally recommend you to host your first blog on blogger. Word-press has advanced features and greater flexibility. But during the beginning try to stick onto blogger. Blogger is easy to use and has a simple interface. You wont have to eat up your head to keep your blog running. Besides this, posting and writing on blogger can also be easier. Fetching an Ad-Sense account can also be done faster and easier if you host your blog on Blogger. Once you find your blog gaining popularity, you can switch onto other platforms as you develop your expertise.

Do not feel tired of trying and writing. Quality content would always be recognized. If not today, tomorrow is your day. Keep trying. Try to post frequently. More than the frequency of posts, concentrate on their quality. Every visitor is important during the early stages. Make sure you have a good content in your blog to retain the visitors.

Today we are going to share some tips to double your Ad-Sense Income through certain easy and practical steps. Make these slight changes in the way you publish ads and get wonderful results. This is not a beginners' guide, this is a guide for small scale bloggers who has been earning a decent amount through their blogs. People earning 1-2$ a day can double their income by following several simple steps, and trust me these are practical. Here, we aren't going to ask you to improve the way you write or change the way you promote them, but we are simply going to optimize the ads you display.

These simple steps were experimented by myself, and I started getting appreciable results. Hence I share it with you people. These are tips aimed at niche based blogs or short term blogs rather than a cocktail blog.

#1 - Place Ads Under Your Post Title

Placing ads under the post title increases the chances of getting your ads noticed. Ads placed in the side bard or as banners has less chances of getting noticed when compared to the ads placed under the title. The readers is anxious or excited about your title and has an enthusiasm to read through the matter. And as he/she scrolls why don't we call upon their attention for a moment? What if they are actually looking for something that you displayed as an Ad? Yes, the results can be amazing. Give this a try !

#2 - Place Ad Units Through Your Blog's Body

Placing ads between your blogs body is also an amazing option to increase the Ads' visibility. Make sure you use text ads instead of display ads. Text ads would stay merged into your blog post and hence has a better presentation as well as chances of getting clicked. The inline ads tend to be clicked 25 times higher than the other ads. Putting display ads in between the posts are not appreciated as it might irritate the reader and spoil your blog's presentation. Therefore we recommend you to put in Text Ads in between your posts.

#3 - Encourage Responsive Ad Units

In the modern world, people are busy moving from one place to other. They might be travelling, performing their jobs or even lying on their bed. Whatever it be, chances of visitors using a smartphone or tablet are very much high in most of the blogs. And therefore we need responsive Ad Units. Just analyse the operating system used by your visitors using Google Analytic and you’ll know where to use the Responsive ad units.

#4 - Analyse, Enhance and Monetize Your Old Posts

Some of your old posts might be still viral. They might have a spark in them. Do not leave them! They are the best hens of your farm. Nourish them and grab the eggs. Analyse your old posts and keep an eye on them. Once you find them catching up with the newer posts, slightly enhance them if needed. And then place in-line ads, banner ads and other ad units. Trap every visitor that you get. This can also give out amazing results if done after proper analytics.

#5. Do Not Stuff Your Blog with Ads

Always be careful that you don't stuff your blog with Ads. A maximum of two or three ad units are always appreciated. Having higher number of Ad units brings about a dislike in the visitor. Even we don't prefer sites that have in-numerous amount of ads, isn't it? Keep in mind that ultimately it is the visitor that would keep us alive, not the ads. Make your site user friendly, fast and easy to navigate. Do not over load your blog with Ads or widgets.

Try these simple steps and find the difference. If you have some special ideas inside your mind, feel free to share it with us.  ;)

Internet scams are one of the most discussed issue of the modern world. While man is moving forth in all walks of life, so are our security concerns. While we had bolts and locks for our doors in the earlier days, we now need highly sophisticated applications to protect us while we are online. Attacks range from malwares to scams. Not only business networks and banks, scams aiming at individuals are also increasing every morning. Here are some basic tips to be aware of to protect yourself while you are online especially in a world, where every 2 out of 7 persons are frequent users of Internet. Starting from the age of 5 we see humans spending hours on computer screens. And therefore taking enough security measures are also very important while you spend your time online.

1. Beware of Internet Scams - Internet Scams are particularly intended to attack individuals at a large scale. They might reach you through your social network profiles or emails. There are various types of Internet Scams, such as the 'Relief Campaign Scams', 'Lottery Scams', 'Nigerian 419 Scams', etc.
Have you ever received mails asking for donations to rescue disaster hit victims? Or mails claiming that you have won a lottery worth a million dollars? Or a Nigerian Prince asking your help to allocate his money? If you are an internet user, you definitely would have come across anyone of these. This is one among the most common type of Internet Scams that are going viral in today's world.

The human mind that is filled with empathy and mutual compassion is being challenged here. While we hear that our brothers are suffering at another corner of the world, won't we feel pleased? It is really easy to convince a light hearted guy that the people are suffering of a disaster. Millions are being cheated this way, while the scam authors fill their bank accounts with lots of donations. While you hear that you have won a lottery worth millions, isn't that a good news, at-least for the first time you received such a mail? Yes definitely your mind gets emotionally challenged at that moment.

How to protect yourself?
Do not reply or respond to unknown emails or business proposals. Discard such messages and make sure that you mark them as spam. Donations and business proposals can be made using lot of other verified websites instead of these unknown sources.

2. Beware of phishing sites and software - Phishing sites and software account for about 20% of the entire internet based fraudulence. Phishing sites are nothing but websites that are designed to steal your valuable data. These can be websites that are designed similar to your bank's website which asks you to enter your personal banking details, and once you enter them you are trapped. They can also be software that can be installed onto your computer that tracks your online activities. Once they gain access to track your activity, it is easy to gather relevant data to attack you. Hence make sure that you do not grant permissions to unknown applications to be installed on your computer and to have an updated antivirus or anti-spyware application.

How to protect yourself?
Always check whether you are using a secure site by verifying the 'https' part before the website address. Always have an updated antivirus or anti spyware application. Do not disclose your personal data to unauthorized websites or personnel.

3. Protect yourself from Malwares - Malware, short for malicious software, is any software used to disrupt computer operation, gather sensitive information, or gain access to private computer systems. It can appear in the form of executable code, scripts, active content, and other software. 'Malware' is a general term used to refer to a variety of forms of hostile or intrusive software. As mentioned earlier, the work similar to phishing sites and software. Even though their mode of operand is a bit different, the entire story line is the same.

How to protect yourself?
Always check whether you are using a secure site by verifying the 'https' part before the website address. Always have an updated antivirus or anti spyware application. Do not disclose your personal data to unauthorized websites or personnel.

Have a safe time online..!

Here is how you can trap your friends inside your phone.  Put them inside your phone and they're there forever. And let them look like trying to come out of it, each time they call or message. All you need is a glass pane and a mobile.

You can take photographs of your friends with their face squished against glass, let it be your window glass or your car glass, anything could work. Then assign those photographs to your phone contacts. Hurray! Now it’ll look like they’re trapped inside your phone!

Google, the internet giant, has decided to shut down one of its the then popular social networking site Orkut by September, 2014. Orkut as Google claims is one of the earliest social networking sites that was established at a time social networking was something new to us.

While Google says the shutdown is due to the hindered and out-spaced growth of Orkut due to the immense popularity of Google's other services like blogger, google+, etc we know the fact of collapse. They also claim that they are bidding farewell to Orkut to spend more time and effort on the other popular services.

But the sad fact is that the Orkut is being shutdown due to its loss in popularity and the falling user rate. Growth of Facebook, has affected Orkut like any other social networking sites that existed until then. As Facebook gained popularity, Orkut and other such social networking giants started falling apart. In the last few years Orkut has failed in bringing up innovative ideas to challenge the social networking giant, Facebook. They lacked innovation and passion that would have sustained Orkut. There was nothing new being introduced to the users. Almost all the options provided were age old boring parts of Orkut. They never tried to have a comeback at-least with a new interface. However, the story comes to an end. And we will definitely be able to say that we are a generation that saw the transition from Orkut to Facebook. Yes we will be saying that we HAD an orkut account. Maybe, it would be one of the most beautiful internet memory for many.

If you are thinking about your data and memories that are stored in Orkut, don't panic, Google never lets their users down. People can export their profile data, community posts and photos using Google Takeout (available until September 2016). You can no more create a new Orkut account. The existing communities will be preserved in an archive by Google which would be accessible by the public. Which means memories would stay, Orkut is leaving.

I remember those days when I was a frequent Orkut user. It was my first social networking experience. Google taught us what is social networking. Like always Google has molded our internet culture to a great extend. Sending those scraps and receiving them were always a matter of happiness. Uploading my first profile picture was done in Orkut. My first email address was created to join Orkut. That would be when I was in 5th or 6th grade, i guess. I remember using proxies to access Orkut which was blocked in the UAE. Orkut definitely has given me a lot of good memories. Thank you Google, you are always our hero on the internet.

There would be hardly few frequent Orkutians existing. Google apologizes them on the decision.

Most of us are familiar with the Peer to Peer file sharing technology, which is now commonly used to share
large files through the internet. As every other technology, torrents are also prone to various risks. Torrents are very much vulnerable to viruses and other malwares. The chances of getting infected while downloading a torrent is 2 in 10 times, which means it is pretty much high to be concerned.

You can easily find your favorite games, movies, books, music and software via a torrent site. But have you ever wondered the risks involved while you download torrents. Besides the copyright risks, there are risks of getting infected with unwanted viruses and malwares. Only after downloading the file completely, you will notice viruses in it. Incomplete downloads cannot identify viruses. And torrents are usually large files and only once you complete downloading the file, you would be able to identify the risks. But mostly by the time, you would be infected!

Google is one among the most established web companies today. Many of Google's services are unmatched
and exclusive. These services cant be replaced by anyone that easily. But the real truth is that, Google is a planned buyer rather than a developer. Most of the user-fondly services of Google were launched by other web companies and when those services became successful and well-developed, Google just snatched it away from them. Here are few of them.

1. Blogger: Blogger is one among the most used services from Google. Blogger is a free blog hosting platform which allows users to start their own blog without even a penny.

3. FeedBurner: Feedburner is a web feed management provider launched in 2004. FeedBurner provides custom RSS feeds and management tools to bloggers, podcasters, and other web-based content publishers. Maybe One among every 3 bloggers use this service.

On June 3, 2007, FeedBurner was acquired by Google Inc., for a rumored price of $100 million. One month later, two of their popular PROservices (MyBrand and TotalStats) were made free to all users.

4. YouTube: YouTube is a video-sharing website on which users can upload, share, and view videos. The name and logo of the company allude to a cathode ray tube, which was used as the screen of a television in the days before flat panel displays.

YouTube was founded by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim, who were all early employees of PayPal. In November 2006, YouTube, LLC was bought by Google Inc. for $1.65 billion, and now operates as a subsidiary of Google.

5. Google Maps: Google Maps (formerly Earth Viewer) is a web mapping service application and technology provided by Google, free (for non-commercial use), that powers many map-based services, including the Google Maps website, Google Ride Finder, Google Transit, and maps embedded on third-party websites via the Google Maps API.

Google Maps first started as a software application developed by Lars and Jens Rasmussen for the company Where2. In October 2004 the company was acquired by Google Inc where it transformed into the web application Google Maps. The application was first announced on the Google Blog on February 8, 2005, and was located at Google.

6. Double Click: Double Click is a subsidiary of Google that develops and provides Internet ad serving services.

DoubleClick was founded in 1996. It was formerly listed as "DCLK" on the NASDAQ, and was purchased by private equity firms Hellman & Friedman and JMI Equity in July 2005. Unlike many other dot-com companies, it survived the bursting of the dot-com bubble. In March 2008, Google acquired DoubleClick for US$3.1 billion in cash.
